Arcata/Orick/Redwood National Park, CA

                           This is where we woke up in Arcata after getting dropped off by the bus.
                                                 Gotta love waking up in the Redwoods.  
 

                              Go get Biscuits and Veggie Gravy at the Big Blue Cafe in Arcata.
                                                          They play John Prine in there!

                                                Who wouldn't pick this jolly character up?

                               This kind fellar's name is Tracy. He picked us up from Arcata
                             and drove us up the way to a little town called Orick. Tracy didn't
                          have too much to say, but he did tell us a story about trying to hitch hike
                         out of a town somewhere in SoCal and being stuck for 4 days. Apparently
                        on the fourth day there were 20 something hitch hikers all trying to get a ride
                from the same spot, and they all got picked up by an 18 wheeler with an empty trailer!
                                        We were unaware that those kind of things happened.

                                                                    The Big Tree!!!
                                                         Redwood National Park, CA

              This is John. He is an awesome man who picked us up out of Orick, and took us to
                 The Big Tree, then he proceeded to drive us all the way to Cave Junction, OR
   where he and his wife then invited us to stay at their home and see their awesome Alpaca Farm.                              John is an environmentalist who works in River Restoration, and his wife Christine is a Botanist.
                                                                     

                John told us a lot about the forests and their eco-systems, and he also identified more
                                   plants than we can possibly even remember. Pretty cool stuff.
